Now that we’re on the road, I’ve discovered that the relationship of many files on my PC, on OneDrive, and iTunes has changed. Until a few months ago, files in my OneDrive folder and tunes in iTunes were synced with their Cloud counterparts. Most of the other files on my PC were on my PC. Now, I discover that if I have poor or no connectivity to the Internet, my files are not available. One Drive now has a Cloud icon where it used to show a synced icon and iTunes can’t locate a file. Other files in my PC unpredictably unable to perform. I think it’s a new feature of Windows 11 and although I can tag each file to stay on my computer, that doesn’t work with some of the apps that don’t allow me to send their working files to specific locations. Sigh.
Just imagine a world where you have your refrigerator on the internet, it upgrades itself to Win 11, and starts storing your items on the Cloud. Then when you look into the fridge, you only see visual representation of your items. If you want to retrieve the milk, you may have to wait for it to download if your Internet is slow. Sigh again.
