Pensacola FL (12/14/2021 – 12/16/2021)

We stopped a couple of nights at Cathy Truette’s house in our usual spot beside her patio. We’ve probably been using that spot for various RVs for over 30 years. She is a very gracious hostess and usually over feeds us significantly.  She had recently had surgery on her left shoulder so I was able to cook dinner for her one night. Yea!! Served her Salmon Veracruz and she loved it.

On our day of non-travel, we drove out to Santa Rosa island to visit Ft Pickens and find a place to take the dogs to the beach.  We found a dog friendly beach and took them to see the water.  They weren’t interested in the surf but Buddy wanted to play in the sand.  He got a bunch on his muzzle and was snorting to get it off. We picked up some seafood at Joe Patti’s, a legendary Pensacola seafood supplier and drove by our old house on Springdale Circle. It hasn’t changed since we lived there in 1973 and we’re pleased to see that the siding we bought with a 30-year warranty looks like it did when it was installed. I doubt that the subsequent owners truly appreciate what we did for them with that investment.
